Wardrobe Tips for Winning Senior Portraits
It getting to be that time of the year again and the most asked question I get is "what do I wear for my session?" Well. choosing the perfect wardrobe for senior portraits can be a fun and exciting experience. And it doesn't have to be hard. Here are some tips to help you create a stylish and timeless look for your senior portraits:
Start with solid colors:
Solid colors are classic and timeless and look great in portraits. Choose colors that flatter your skin tone and complement your eyes and hair.
Avoid busy patterns:
Busy patterns can be distracting in portraits and take the focus away from you. Stick to simple patterns or solid colors.
Mix and match:
Mixing and matching pieces can add interest and texture to your photos. Try pairing a solid top with a patterned skirt or vice versa.
Accessorize:
Accessories can add a lot to your outfit and help you express your personality. Consider adding a statement necklace, a pair of earrings, or a scarf to your look. These items shouldn't be the focus of the image but complimentary pieces to your outfit.
Consider the location:
Think about the location of your photo shoot when choosing your outfit. If you're taking photos outdoors, consider wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a jacket or sweater in case it gets cold.
Dress for the season:
Make sure to dress appropriately for the season. If it's hot outside, wear lightweight, breathable fabrics. If it's cold, opt for layers and warmer fabrics.
Be comfortable:
It's important to feel comfortable and confident in your outfit. Choose clothes that fit well and make you feel good.
Keep it timeless:
Remember, these photos will be around for years to come. Avoid trendy or faddish clothing that may look dated in a few years.
By following these tips, you can create a stylish and timeless look for your senior portraits that you will love for years to come.
