THE SENIOR PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE

I’ll help you tell your one-of-a-kind senior story, and celebrate this unforgettable year in style.

 

THE SESSION

During the session I like to shoot a minimum of 3 different looks plus I make sure we throw in some headshot looks for you to have a well rounded session. Shooting a range of looks in this way will allow you to have a number of shots available for different marketing purposes. I don’t put a strict limit on the number of shots I take per look, and shoot each look until I feel we’ve got it covered. 

Part of my process is to edit the session with you as we go. You and I will inspect each shot one by one to determine its potential use or not. When we are done I’ve usually shot anywhere between 100 and 200 shots during my full session and you'll end up with somewhere between 50-60 final shots that you have approved as potential candidates to use. By shooting and editing in this manner we can adjust the focus of the shots during the session to account for anything that you feel we may have missed. You'll know exactly what you will be working with when you walk out of my studio because we have gone through the entire session together and approved each during this process.

If you end up choosing me as your photographer then you are in agreement that it's your responsibility to convey to me anything that you feel needs improvement over the course of the session. I want nothing more than having you totally satisfied with the outcome and things are fairly easy to adjust during the session. However, once the session is over then it's your responsibility to work with the images that we decided to keep. I'm a big deleter and want your shoot saturated with amazing shots, so I have no problem deleting shots during the editing process in order to only keep the best of the best. 

I do feel that I have an incredible eye and know my work is regarded as being the best available in this industry, however, I have no control of how others will react to your session after you leave me.

Shortly after your session your images will be made available on your own password protected proofing website on www.rnolanphotography.com. You will be able to give the passcode to friends, family, or anyone else who might help you choose the shots you decide to use. You can also share the images through social media via the links you’ll see next to each image in your gallery. The site is a perfect tool for choosing your shots and remains online for 14 days from when you receive access. If you are using the site and would like it to remain online longer then just ask and we’d be happy to keep it active for you for an additional cost. 

 

RETOUCHING AND PRINTING

A meeting is required two weeks following your session to choose your images. Once you've chosen the shots you'd like to work with we will then place an order for retouching and printing through our online proofing site with our retouching/printing house.

For quality control purposes I prefer all of my work to be handled by an outside source and I don't release RAW images directly to my clients.

 

YOUR CLOTHING

I ask that everyone bring at least 5 different outfit options clothing wise. I like to decide what you will wear from a range of clothing. Rule #1: You have to love it! I don't want to shoot anything that you don't feel comfortable wearing. If you don’t feel good in it, you won’t shoot well while wearing it. Remember, be yourself because this is where you can get some of your own personal style into the shoot. 

People always ask me what colors are best and I really don't have an answer for that. For me, it's better for me to get a visual of something, so I suggest bringing a wide variety of colors. Don't be seasonal; everything from t-shirts, tank tops to sweaters and light jackets can work. I love textures and layers, but would generally stay away from crazy patterns, however, if it's not with you we can't shoot it, so if you find yourself questioning whether or not something will work just bring it along. I also suggest having some fun with this, if you feel your wardrobe is missing a beat then go shopping and we'll keep the tags on, so you can return the items you don't want to keep after the shoot. I do not have a steamer; so please make sure your items are ironed and pressed.

 

HAIR & MAKEUP

Women

Makeup for the session is  required for all women. The cost for using my main makeup artist is $75. You’ve got to trust us in this area. We do this on a daily basis and the makeup is applied specifically for the lighting I use. We usually start with a very natural look to give you a very clean appearance and will add makeup as we go. You can discuss how you’d like to start and where you’d like to go with the makeup over the course of the shoot. For instance, if you prefer a darker look right off the bat then we are happy to do that for you. The makeup artist is there throughout the session in order to make sure the makeup is fresh and can attend to anything I need while I’m shooting.

Men

It's not required, but men can hire a makeup artist if you feel you need grooming on the shoot for $50. Also, for the guys who grow decent scruff or feel you can market yourself in that direction, you can come in with a some growth and we'll shoot until we feel we've gotten it covered and then you can shave, so bring your razor, etc.

                      2 locations (shot on the same day. Locations must not be longer than 25 miles apart)

OPTION THREE: $1450

  Unlimited outfits

35-40 digital edited images in a downloadable gallery

                      2 locations (shot on the same day. Locations must not be longer than 25 miles apart)

10x10 Hardcover Photo Book 20 Pages approximately 40 images

Additional session cost is $200

Images will be available for preview in a password protected gallery. You will have 14 days to make selections in the gallery once it is available before it is deactivated.

My timeframes are very generous i usually wrap earlier because i am able to shoot quickly.


I suggest blocking out 2 hours for your shoot, but don’t be surprised if we wrap half an hour early. 


Timeframe includes travel time between locations.

SCHEDULE

I tweak the times depending upon the schedule each particular day, so I do ask people to be a bit flexible. When I'm shooting women, be aware that the sessions do overlap to allow for makeup. Women are in makeup for an hour or so. I'm usually just finishing my first session while my makeup artist is doing makeup for our next client. Make sure you don't have anything else scheduled close to the end of your session in case I feel we need more time with you.

In order to get the session you prefer I suggest you book at least 2 weeks in advance. If you need to get in ASAP then just contact me about the schedule. I do try to accommodate everyone!

If for any reason you need to change a scheduled session, I require 24 hours notice.

PAYMENTS

I require a $300 non-refundable deposit cash or check to secure your session date + time.

The deposit is subtracted from your package cost…

Credit card transactions will be assessed a 3% fee. 

The purpose of the deposit is to lock in your date + time. 
If you cancel last minute, I could have booked someone else during that period.

I do not write anything down in my calendar until the deposit has been paid, making your desired time slot up for grabs. nothing is booked until the deposit has been paid.

The remainder of your session fee is due immediately following your
 shoot before we both depart.

We work with freelance makeup artists and you will be paying them directly, they require cash the day of the shoot.
